Several years ago a land developer decided to sit on some of his property for awhile to see if they added an Interstate Exit near his property. In the mean time he put the property to use by stringing up a bunch of lights and called his creation, "Lights of the South". I admit, it is a neat display. They have tractors pulling trailers full of hay bales and people through lit up nativity scenes and winter wonderland recreations - all that is missing is the snow (but who are we kidding, it's the South after all).
Each year they have added a few things, such as firepits to roast marshmallows, a place to take pictures with Santa Clause, restrooms (took 'em long enough to get to that point!) and it's turned into a nicer place that still has a backwoods southern feel to it. I have to say, though, it's not a, wait in line for an hour in the freezing cold with your crying children just to pay $60 and see shiny lights, kind of fun.
We're going to take a small break from this family tradition.
Got some pretty pictures, though!
